Our classes and what to expect 

​

I am Sharon Gleeson and I have been practicing Iyengar yoga since 2000 and teaching since 2012.

I enjoy sharing the benefits of yoga with beginners as much as I enjoy practicing with the intermediate students, most of whom have been with me from day 1.  Most of our classes are mixed ability and it has been a pleasure to watch people become friends over the years.  Our little yoga community is a very special place of which I am very proud.

Lockdown separated us for an extended period over the last 2 years but thankfully we are slowly getting back to normal.  The experience of Covid has affected us all in different ways but I think we are all very grateful for yoga and all of the benefits that it brings to our lives.

Many of us struggle with aches and pains and yoga can often help.  Please tell me of any injuries or medical conditions when you join a class and your needs will be taken into account.  

​

I strive to prepare classes that are challenging and interesting but it is very important to work at your own pace and ask questions if you are unsure of any pose or instruction.

​

Our Zoom classes have proved very popular and they allow people to attend a class from the comfort of home.  They are on Tuesday evenings from 5-6pm and 6-7pm. The first is a general level class and the second is restorative.  Many students attend both classes.
