Stillorgan Yoga
Iyengar Yoga
Welcome
Stillorgan Yoga offers a range of classes in the Iyengar method. The focus is on correct alignment of the body in poses ensuring that you are working safely with maximum benefit to your flexibility, strength and wellbeing.
Classes generally start with simple poses and gradually move towards more advanced poses ending with a period of relaxation.
Props are often used in classes to allow people of all abilities to work correctly and safely in the poses.
All Iyengar teachers are trained to a very high standard and fully insured.
To qualify as a teacher you must attend classes for at least 3 years. This is followed by 2 years teacher training and a series of rigorous assessments. Intermediate and senior teachers have been practicing and training for many more years and have passed a series of further assessments.
All Iyengar teachers are required to maintain their professional development each year to qualify for continued use of the Iyengar Certification Mark.
The Iyengar Yoga Certification Mark is a guarantee of excellence, clarity and depth of understanding.
Classes I Offer
Restorative
This class has become increasingly popular over the past few years. Longer time is spent in the poses and a lot of props and supports are used (bolsters, blankets, blocks etc). Pranayama (Breath work) is taught and the class should leave you feeling relaxed, calm and ready to face the world.
