Some thoughts on Iyengar Yoga from Paula Golden who was in my very first Iyengar yoga class and has been a dedicated student ever since 😊
“I started Iyengar yoga 12 years ago.
My aim was to improve my posture and give myself some time .
I definitely feel I am more aware of my posture sitting and standing.
I try to go to classes twice a week but for a long time only did 1 class a week. I definitely feel the loss when I can't get there.
I'm not great at home practice but I am now trying to incorporate 1 or 2 poses into my everyday life.I think the reason I have been doing it so long is down to our teacher Sharon, she talks you through every movement and is very encouraging whatever level you are at .There are a lot of stretching and strengthening movements which I hope will keep me supple as I'm aging.The time out gives me head space and helps me cope with everyday stresses .
We have a great group of people too so makes it all the more sociable and enjoyable.I would definitely recommend it 😀
